You can think of Grain as the ATmosphere's alternative to Instagram. Everything is pictures, pictures, pictures and not gonna lie, it's kinda beautiful. For the most part, you'll find a huge variety of nature/landscape photography but you are absolutely not locked into that.
What is Grain?
Grain calls itself "a photo first social app". They offer the option to post single photos, photo galleries and disappearing stories.
What can I do on Grain?
If you've used Instagram, you pretty much already know what you can do on Grain - although Grain offers a lot more options that makes it the perfect place for the serious photographer and the hobbyist.
You can add singular photos, galleries of photos and disappearing stories. You can add ALT text to all of your photos (except stories), location information and you can even add camera details. They even have the option to import your Instagram photos!
You can find people you follow on BlueSky on Grain, you can @ mention people, use hashtags and add tappable links. You can favorite other's photos, comment on posts and share your photos off-site - including an option to post directly to BlueSky.
Finally, when posting your images, you can add a title, description and a content warning in line with BlueSky's content labeling.

Sign in with BlueSky. Your BlueSky handle (name) and followers come with you.
Post photos, galleries and disappearing stories.
Favorite and comment on photos, galleries and stories you like.
Use ALT text on your images and restrict visibility through content labeling.
List your location and find photos by location.
Post camera details and find photos shot by specific camera details.
Hashtags, @ mentions and tappable links.
